Local Gov’t Ministry pledges to establish fire brigade response system in Southern Clarendon
The Ministry of Local Government will be taking steps to establish a fire brigade response system in Southern Clarendon, as part of efforts to better mitigate situations.
This follows the concern that there was no fire department nearby to respond to the house fire in Race Course in the parish, which left two toddlers dead, in March.
Speaking at a town hall in Rocky Point last evening (July 7), Portfolio Minister Desmond McKenzie said the issue is being discussed with the Commissioner of the fire brigade.
He gave the Government’s commitment to addressing the concerns.
