Local Government Minister urges vendors to be patient as assessments conducted following Ocho Rios market fire
Minister of Local Government, Desmond McKenzie is urging vendors to be patient with the authorities, as they conduct the necessary assessments following the fire at the Ocho Rios market yesterday.
The fire, which started around 4 P.M., resulted in the loss of goods valued at 30 million dollars.
Twelve stalls were affected.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
During a tour of the affected area this morning, Mr. McKenzie assured that assistance will be provided.
Mr. McKenzie emphasized that the recovery process will not be immediate.
