Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie has signalled his intention to expedite the process of changing the names of the island’s infirmaries.

This initiative which commenced in 2017 is part of efforts to improve these facilities and their social impact.

During that same year, the Portland Infirmary was renamed the Portland Adult Residential Care Facility.

Speaking at a ceremony at the St. Elizabeth infirmary on Thursday, Mr. McKenzie noted that this year will see the acceleration of the name-changing process.
