Lila Ike has joined a growing chorus of entertainers advocating for an end to violence against women and children. In an Instagram story she expressed her fears and frustrations about the safety of women in Jamaica.

“Being a woman in this country is terrifying,” Lila wrote. “Every day, there’s another report of a young girl missing, another found raped and murdered. Women disappearing without a trace. It feels like we’re being hunted. No where is safe – not the streets, not public transport, not even our communities.”

Lila’s concerns stem from recent incidents against women and children that have sparked widespread outrage and concern. Lila’s voice joins a growing number of entertainers including Bounty Killer, Queen Ifrika, Popcaan, Cecile and Kiprich who have been using their influence to call for an end to violence against women and children.
