The third annual Courtney ‘Ricky’ Gordon Youth Football Festival will take place this Saturday July 25th and Sunday July 26th at the Maverly football field in St Andrew.

The event is named in honor of the late Maverly/Hughenden FC and Meadowbrook High football legend.

Under 13 and under 15 teams football teams from Duhaney Park, Cooreville Gardens, Maverly, Hughenden and Pembrook Hall, will participate in the tournament. There will be a Masters league clash between Maverly Invitational and Christian Ambassadors.

Among the honorees this year are: legendary dancehall pioneer Sassa Frass, Leebert Halliman, Olympian John Mair, Reverend Raymond Coke and teacher of the year Nadine Lawrence.

The successful students out of the Pep examinations from Maverly/Hughenden will also be honored.

The two day event will begin at 10am on Saturday and 12 noon on Sunday.
