Lawmen in St. Elizabeth will continue to push their operational strategies to further reduce murders in the parish.
Providing an update to Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness, Commanding Officer, Superintendent Coleridge Minto noted that the parish is seeing a 62 per cent reduction in murders.
According to Superintendent Minto, this is the lowest reduction recorded in the past ten years.
He is expecting that St. Elizabeth will end the year with phenomenally low numbers.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Minto noted that proactive community outreach and support systems are being employed to tackle interpersonal and domestic violence.
These initiatives are being carried out through the Domestic Violence Centre and Restorative Justice Programmes.
