Lampart first Jamaican winner at Penn Relays 2026
Clarendon College’s Marla Kay Lampart produced the first victory by a Jamaican athlete on today’s opening day of the 130th running of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
The reigning ISSA Girls Champs Class 1 Girls competed under difficult circumstances after coming in with an injury.

However, she was coerced into competing and finishing the event by her coach and posted 14.41 meters in her final preliminary round effort – That was good enough to take the event overall.
In the meantime, Jamaican athletes took the second-, third-, fourth-, and fifth-place spots in the discus event.
Dionjah Shaw of Edwin Allen took the runner-up spot with 48.87 meters, Jamela Young of Edwin Allen was third with 48.66 meters, Brandae Malcolm of Hydel, and Tanique Dunn of Marymount took the fourth and fifth spots.
