Labour Ministry to determine if legal and regulatory requirements are in place for employees of Chinese operated car service company
The Labour Ministry will seek to determine if all legal and regulatory requirements have been satisfied for workers at the recently opened car service company in Ferry Pen, St. Andrew.
Labour minister Pearnel Charles Jr’s assurance comes amid reported concern over the employment status of workers engaged at the Chinese-operated facility.
It has been alleged that the Chinese workers are operating without valid work permits.
Mr. Charles Jr. said his team has begun a comprehensive probe into the matter.
The Minister also stressed that if any breach is found, it will be addressed in accordance with the law.
