Labour Minister assures that challenges with Canadian farm work programme are being addressed
Labour Minister Karl Samuda has sought to assure that challenges identified with the Canadian farm work programme are being addressed.
He gave the assurance in his sectoral debate presentation in parliament today, as he tabled the report from the fact finding mission, which was tasked with investigating claims of mistreatment by some workers.
Mr. Samuda noted that the mission found that most of the workers were being treated fairly well.
The minister acknowledged that among the areas of concern is that some liaison officers were not visiting the workers.
Mr. Samuda said changes will be made to the liaison services.
