The Kingston and St.Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) says it will revisit the approach taken by the Municipal Police when interacting with the public and especially vendors.

The KSAMC says this is to ensure that all stakeholders including vendors, are treated with dignity and respect while public order is maintained.

The commitment from the Corporation follows a viral video, showing KSAMC Municipal Police Officers destroying vendors’ stalls and abusing a vendor. 

Kingston Mayor Andrew Swaby, says this incident occurred over two years ago and that most of the Municipal Police Officers are no longer members of the organization.

The Mayor adds that Municipal Police attached to the KSAMC will undergo training to assist them in providing the best service to the public.
