KSAMC steps up enforcement against construction on Sundays
The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation, (KSAMC), has stepped up its enforcement, of the no construction on Sundays regulation, following recent complaints.
Under the law, construction activity, including erection, alteration, repair, and dismantling, is prohibited on Sundays and on public holidays.
Mayor of Kingston, Delroy Williams said the corporation has been clamping down on persons who breach the law.
He said there has been a noticeable reduction in the number of developers who do construction work on Sundays.
He noted however, that the issue needs to be completely eradicated, and as such, the KSAMC will be ramping up measures to halt the practice.
Mayor Williams is reminding persons found in breach, that their building permits may be revoked.
