KSAFA rocked by sudden resignations after Gen Sec and assistant Gen Sec step down
The Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) has been hit with two early resignations to start the new year.
Assistant general secretary Audrey Brown is reported to have tendered her resignation on the heels of general secretary Marvin Tate stepping down.
IRIE FM understands that Brown’s departure is in solidarity with Tate who was instructed to step down by the end of December.
Browns resignation letter to KSAFA president Mark Bennett, noted she had initially declined being nominated for the post, but later agreed to serve to support the designated general secretary Marvin Tate.
“You will recall that I initially declined a nomination for this post and later agreed to serve to support the designated General Secretary Mr Marvin Tate,” Brown said.
“Given that my engagement was tethered to Mr Tate occupying the post of General Secretary I have no choice but to tender my resignation in light of his demitting office.”
“This will give a free hand to the incoming General Secretary in choosing his/her Assistant.”
Brown resigning on Wednesday comes a day after Tate tendered his resignation with immediate effect.
