Kishane Thompson and Tia Clayton reportedly will miss the World Indoor Championships
Jamaica’s sprint stars Kishane Thompson and Tia Clayton reportedly will miss the World Indoor Championships.
This after being unlisted on the road to Nanjing Portal by World Athletics in February, it was announced that the Paris Olympians would compete in their first Indoor Championships in Nanjing.
Both speedsters enjoyed great starts to the 2025 Indoor season, making them one of the favourites to medal at the Championship.
Thompson kicked off his season by clocking the fifth-fastest 60m meterstime in Jamaican history running a personal best of 6.48 seconds at the Central Hurdles, Relays, and field meet.
A week later, on January 25th, he competed in his first indoor race on European soil at the World Athletics Indoor tour gold meeting in Astana, where he powered to an impressive win in 6.56 seconds, but since then, the 23-year-old hasn’t competed in any Indoor race.
Meanwhile, Clayton also recorded an important victory, marking her Indoor debut with a convincing 60 meters win at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Astana, blazing to a new meeting record of 7.18 seconds.

Based on the list released on the World Athletics Portal, the jamaican men’s 60 meters team comprises Rohan Watson and Nishion Ebanks, while the women’s team will have only two between Jodean Williams, Tina Clayton, and Natasha Morrison.
