Kishane Thompson and Bryan Level out of 2026 JAAA/Puma National Junior and Senior Championship
Members of the World Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) will be Jamaica this week ahead of the JAAA/Puma National Junior and Senior Championship, while the Olympic silver medalist Kishane Thompson and World Championship 200 meters bronze medallist Bryan Level, are the two big stars who will be missing from the four day spectacle.
The AIU will be in the island to conduct sensitization and rules update meetings with local coaches and athletes before the Championship starts on Thursday.
Despite the absence of Thompson and level, all the big names on the women’s side, including back to back Olympic Sprint double champion Elaine Thompson -Herah , and the Clayton Twins will be in action.
In the meantime, it is understood that both Thompson and level are nursing slight injuries, and have been pulled from the trials as a precautionary move.
Meanwhile, for the first time a multi event competition will be staged on Saturday and Sunday for under 15 and under 13 athletes, and over 1000 athletes have been registered for the four day meet.
