Olympic silver medallist Kishane Thompson and national champions Bryan Levell and Ashante Moore were the Jamaican winners at the Istvan July Memorial World Continental Tour Gold Meet held in Budapest.

Thompson who is the world leader over 100 meters at 9.75 seconds, remained unbeaten over the distance this season, after winning the event in 9.95 seconds. 

Abdul-Rasheed Saminu of Ghana and Akani Simbine of South Africa were second and third respectively–both credited with the same time 10.01 seconds. 

Akeem Blake, meanwhile was 4th in 10.04 seconds, while Kadrian Goldson and Rohan Watson were 6th and 7th in 10.08 and 10.12 seconds respectively. 

The women’s 100 metres saw Marie Josee Ta lou-Smith of the Ivory Coast winning in 10.97 seconds, with national champion Tina Clayton 10.99 and Shericka Jackson 11 seconds flat, completing the top 3.

Former World Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was 4th in a time of 11.07 seconds.

In the men’s 200 metres, Levell took the men’s event in a personal best 19.69 seconds to finish ahead of Wayde Van Neikirk of South Africa who ran 20.07 seconds.

Adrian Kerr 20.52 and Michael Clarke 20.88 seconds were 6th and 8th respectively.

Over in the women’s equivalent, national 200 metre champion Ashante Moore, remained unbeaten after two outings after speeding to 22.31 seconds, the same time as second place Nigerian Favor Ofili.

Daryl Neita of Great Britain was 3rd in 22.37 seconds.

In the meantime, former Olympic Champion Hansle Parchment took silver in the men’s 110 meters hurdles in a season’s best 13.24 seconds, while Orlando Bennet was 5th in 13.32 seconds, behind Cordel Tinch of the USA who won in 13.20 seconds.

Ackera Nugent and Amoi Brown were 4th and 5th respectively in the women’s 100 meter hurdles in 12.85 and 12.88 seconds, the race was won by Nadine Visser of the Netherlands in 12.43.

Dominic williams was a second place finisher in the men’s 60 meters in 6.66 seconds as shian salmon clocked 54.95 seconds to finish 6th in the women’s 400 meter hurdles—-won by femke bol of the netherlands in 52.24 seconds.

In the field, Akelia Smith just missed out on a podium topping performance in the Women’s Long Jump and took the runner-up spot with a leap measuring 6.67 meters, just behind American Claire Bryant 6.71 metres.

In the men’s shot put, Rajinjra Campbell ended 5th with a throw of 20.71 meters behind American Joe Kovacs 21.95 meters.

Meantime, the two-time olympic champions, Sweden’s mondo duplantis broke his own men’s pole vault world record for a 13th time—-after clearing 6.29 meters on his second attempt.
