Dancehall artiste, Kiprich has penned a song lamenting the brutal murder of 9-year-old Kelsey Ferrigon.
The dancehall artiste in an effort to mobilise the public for positive change took social media to share his thoughts, with a video captioned, ‘Her name is Kelsey Ferrigon’ adding ‘RIP Kelsey’.
The footage highlights a sombre Kiprich singing in part, “no mother nuh deserve this, Jamaica how we moving so worthless… Fi a place weh full up a churches, also full a heart wa so dirty…when yuh kill a pickney what the worth… unuh actions a hurt we… Jamaica needs a quick plan, cry we a cry out…‘
Kiprich’s tribute to Kelsey adds to cries from industry heavyweights Bounty Killer and Queen Ifrika who also used their platforms to call for quick and decisive action in bringing Kelsey’s killer to justice.
Over the weekend, the entire nation, amid Mother’s Day celebrations, plunged into mourning after news emerged of Kelsey’s vicious murder.
Giovanni Ellis, the man listed as a person of interest in her shocking murder, was fatally shot during a police operation in Sandy Bay, Clarendon on Monday May 12.
