Kingston teacher charged after police seize gun, imitation weapons and tactical gear at home
A Kingston teacher has been charged following the seizure of a firearm, ammunition and imitation weapons during a police operation in Kingston 20 yesterday.
Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition is Yraerc Creary, a 38-year-old instructor from Colbeck Avenue.
Reports are that around 5:45 A.M., officers from the St. Andrew South Police Division conducted a targeted raid at his home.
During a search of the property, police found a 9 millimeter pistol, a magazine, and fourteen 9 millimeter cartridges in a clothes basket in the bedroom.
Four imitation firearms were also discovered inside a safe, along with two projectiles, two ballistic vests and a face mask.
Creary was taken into custody and later charged.
His court date is being finalized.
