Kingston Mayor Andrew Swaby has indicated that the municipal corporation has identified at least two areas that could be developed in a taxi park.

He provided the update to members of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, TODSS, during the virtual meeting last evening.

The issue of a lack of a park for public passenger vehicles in Kingston has been a long standing one, with taxi operators complaining that this results in them being ticketed by traffic police, when they pick up or drop off passengers along roadways.

Mayor Swaby said the potential areas are: a lot near the Kingston Parish Church, and the Peachon Street Transportation Centre.
