Kingston mayor chides NWC for not addressing sewage concerns
Mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby has chided the National Water Commission for not addressing the sewage issue in downtown Kingston.
He made the statement on a tour of the area, yesterday.
Mayor Swaby said the sewage situation is an ongoing issue.
He noted that no NWC representative participated in yesterday’s site visit.
The mayor also called on Water Minister Matthew Samuda to work with the KSAMC to address the issues.
Mayor Swaby said the situation is a health crisis, noting that vendors are being forced to sell amid the strong odour and contaminated water.
