King of Reggae featured on playlist of Britain’s king

Bob Marley and the Wailer’s 1980 hit track, Could you be Loved is featured on a playlist published by Britain’s king.

The king’s Apple Music playlist was released in honour of Commonwealth Day being observed today across fifty-six member countries.

In a video message shared on social media, the British monarch said, music has meant a great deal to him throughout his life and notes that this is also the case for so many others.

After playing a version of Marley’s Could You Be Loved, the monarch shared his recollection of meeting the King of Reggae at an event when he came to London.

In paying homage to the reggae legend, King Charles III said Marley had a marvellous, infectious energy, a deep sincerity and a profound concern for his community. He recalls him often saying, “The people have a voice inside of them,” adding, “Marley gave the world that voice in a way that no one who heard can ever forget.”

The king’s Apple Music playlist also includes, La Vie En Rose by Grace Jones, Crazy in Love by Beyoncé and Jay-Z, The Loco-Motion by Kylie Minogue, Upside Down by Diana Ross, The Click Song by Miriam Makeba and others.
