King and Powell among West Indies players awarded international contracts for 2025/26 season

Two Jamaicans, Brandon King and Rovman Powell, have secured international retainer contracts for the 2025/26 season, as Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed its list of contracted players on Monday.

The new contracts, which run from October 1, 2025, follow the 2024/25 evaluation period and cover both the West Indies men’s and women’s senior squads, along with developmental and academy players.

Men’s Retainer Contracts

A total of 15 men’s players have been awarded international retainer contracts. Alongside King and Powell, the list includes: Alick Athanaze, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd, and Jomel Warrican.

Additionally, Jewel Andrew, Jediah Blades, and Johann Layne have received developmental starter contracts.

The men’s academy contracts were handed out to Akeem Auguste, Ryan Bandoo, Jediah Blades, Rivaldo Clarke, Mavendra Dindyal, Giovonte Depeiza, Nathan Edward, Damel Evelyn, Amari Goodridge, Mbeki Joseph, Johann Layne, Zishan Motara, Kelvin Pittman, Renico Smith, and Carlon Tuckett.

Women’s Retainer Contracts

On the women’s side, Jamaicans Stafanie Taylor and Chinelle Henry are among 15 players earning senior retainer deals. The list also features Aaliyah Alleyne, Shemaine Campbelle, Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Jannillea Glasgow, Shawnisha Hector, Zaida James, Qiana Joseph, Hayley Matthews, Ashmini Munisar, and Karishma Ramharack.

Jahzara Claxton and Realeanna Grimmond have been offered developmental starter contracts.

Women’s academy contracts went to Abigail Bryce, Asabi Callender, Naijanni Cumberbatch, Shabika Gajanbi, Brianna Harricharan, Trishan Holder, Djenaba Joseph, Nyia Latchman, Samara Ramnath, Amrita Ramtahal, Selena Ross, Shunelle Sawh, Steffie Soogrim, and Kate Wilmott.
