Khadijah Bunny’ Shaw and Drew Spence named in Concacaf’s best eleven
Top striker Khadijah Bunny’ Shaw and inspirational midfielder Drew Spence are the Jamaicans named on Concacaf’s best eleven from the Concacaf Women’s Championships which ended earlier this week in Monterrey Mexico.
Shaw scored three goals from 14 shots during the tournament to help Jamaica qualify for back to back the Women’s World Cup final and the Olympic play-in versus Canada.
She had three steals as well.
Spence who led the tournament with an eye-popping 15 steals also had three clearances on top of a goal and an assist.
The other standouts making the best eleven include goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan, Defender Vanessa Gilles, midfielder Jessie Fleming and striker Julia Grosso of Canada………..defender Becky Sauerbrunn, Naomi Girma, Rose Lavelle, along with Alex Morgan of champions USA…………. and midfielder Melchie Dumornay of Haiti
Dumornay of Haiti copped the young player award at the tournament, the Canadian keeper Sheridan walked away with the best goalkeeper award, her compatriot Julia Grosso won the top goal scorer award and the best player award went to Alex Morgan of the USA.
Canada won the fair play award.
