Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw creates history for Manchester City in the English Women’s Super League
Reggae Girl Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw created history as she struck twice to help Manchester City to a 5-0 thrashing of West Ham United, to help her team move to the top of the English Women’s Super League.
Shaw is now the only player in the league’s history to have a goal contribution in 10 consecutive matches.
Shaw also took her goals tally to 21 in the league this season, eight more than Chelsea’s Lauren James who is second in the golden boot race.
Meanwhile City, who were chalking up their 13th league win in a row, enjoyed a dream start as they surged into a two-goal lead after just three minutes, courtesy of Leila Ouahabi and Shaw who fired in on a half-volley.
Shaw’s impressive first half was soured when she had to be substituted at the break and spent the second half sitting on the bench wearing a protective boot.
City now sit three points ahead of Chelsea having played a game more.
