Kemba Nelson shuts down twitter account, following social media attack
Irie Fm sports has learnt Jamaica’s world championship relay silver medalist Kemba Nelson after being insulted and attacked on social media, on the weekend has since deactivated her twitter account.
Nelson, who attends Oregon University, ran the lead off leg on Jamaica’s team in the women’s 4×100 metres relays at the just ended World Athletics Championship in Oregon.
The baton exchange between herself and the second leg runner Elaine Thompson -Hearh was not executed smoothly as Jamaica finished second behind the USA in the event on Saturday Night.
Since then Nelson who also helped Jamaica qualify for the 4×100 metres final, is said to be singled out on social media, as the reason why Jamaica lost the gold medal in the race.
She is yet to respond officially, but posted on her face book account that due to heavy criticism from Jamaicans, Kemba Nelson has deactivated her twitter account.
