Kartel tour post fuels talk of subliminal shots

Vybz Kartel has signaled that now that his European tour is complete, it is time for TikTok fun.

Just hours ago, the dancehall star posted, “I’m addicted to this TikTok shhh Tour done! Now it’s pure fun!!!” Kartel has been very active on the platform lately, entertaining fans with voiceover videos that show off his sense of humor.

A day earlier, he also shared highlights from his sold out show in Birmingham, which drew an explosive audience. That post was captioned, “A dis a cause e problem eno! History man @ work! WorldBoss Arena Tour #Freedom StreetEurope was historic and iconic. Thanks to God and to my beautiful fans.”

The caption sparked speculation, with some fans suggesting it was a direct response to what they labeled a sneak diss from Buju Banton. Last week, Buju defended his viral dance video with a post that read, “Guys calm down, I do what I love with passion. If I was just standing and singing, you all would have something to say. Leave me, let me entertain my fans. Go tell your favorite artiste they need to perform and stop robbing the people. Thank you, learn something or leave it. Period.”

Adding more fuel to the speculation, Buju later followed up with another post saying, “I know what you are trying to do, and I know who is behind it and I know who is paying you. May my enemies be beaten down as fine as dust.”

The question remains whether Buju’s initial post was taken out of context by fans or if both artists are really sending subliminal messages to each other. Some argue that dancehall thrives on mind games and that artistes often gaslight social media, while others believe fans may simply be overthinking and creating their own narratives.
