Kamala Harris’ Jamaican family excited at the prospect that she could become U.S. President

United States Vice President, Kamala Harris has received strong support from her father’s side of the family in Brown’s Town, St. Ann, in her bid to represent the Democratic Party in the upcoming United States election.

This, after United States President Joe Biden announced that he would not be seeking re-election in the November election.

Mr. Biden also threw his support behind Ms. Harris, who later filed her formal application to represent the party.

Speaking to IRIE FM News following the announcement, cousin of Ms. Harris, Sherman Harris said he believes she can represent the Democratic Party and later defeat Republican candidate Donald Trump.

He said while she might face an uphill task to become the first female president of the U.S., the world is changing and anything can happen.

He said should she represent the democrats and win the election the entire community of Orange Hill would be elated.

Harris’ father, former Stanford University professor Donald Harris, is originally from Brown’s Town.
