Justice Minister wants Integrity Commission to stop announcing probes
Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has again suggested that the Integrity Commission (IC) should refrain from announcing that it is carrying out probes related to public officials, until the investigations are complete and it is able to report on the findings.
Mr. Chuck made the statement during deliberations on recommendations at this morning’s meeting of the Integrity Commission Oversight Committee.
The recommendation was made that the I C’s director of investigation should give consideration to whether complaints submitted are supported by evidence of probative value, when determining what matters to investigate.
Mr. Chuck said there is merit to the recommendation.
