Justice Minister Delroy Chuck is calling on the Opposition to support the Government’s efforts to curtail crime.
This, as he noted that the States of Emergency (SOEs), which have been heavily criticized by the Opposition are effective, as they help to reduce the murder rate.
Speaking at a Jamaica Labour Party Constituency Conference last night, Mr Chuck noted that crime remains a major problem in the country, and SOEs are critical in helping to alleviate the problem.
Meantime, he appealed to citizens to assist in the fight against crime.
He further warned that those who support criminal activities can be charged.
