Junior doctors to continue discussions with government today regarding wage concerns
The Jamaica Medical Doctors’ Association (JMDA) and government are to meet again today to continue discussions regarding wage concerns.
The parties have been meeting since Monday when junior doctors staged an island-wide sickout in relation to overtime remuneration and retroactive payments owed to them.
IRIE FM News understands that today’s meeting is to begin at 12:00 P.M.
Yesterday, Finance Minister Fayval Williams was tightlipped about Tuesday’s meeting.
However, President of the JMDA, Dr. Renee Badroe said that though the meeting resulted in a few compromises on the part of the association, it was not productive.
