Member of Parliament for St. Andrew East Rural, Juliet Holness, is again the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Mrs. Holness was sworn in at Gordon House today.

Her appointment follows a statement from the Opposition yesterday that Mrs. Holness or Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert should not be appointed Speaker of the House.

According to the Opposition, the women’s handling of certain issues, such as the reports to Parliament from the Auditor General and the Integrity Commission, has eroded trust and confidence.

However, the Holness administration rejected the Opposition’s comments, stating that it would not be bullied.
