JTA to continue wage talks with Finance Ministry tomorrow morning
The Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) is to meet with the Ministry of Finance tomorrow morning to continue wage negotiations.
JTA President Dr. Mark Smith said the current 7.5 per cent wage offer is unacceptable.
He said he expects that during Friday’s 10 am meeting, the Ministry will make an offer that honours the hard work of the island’s teachers.
He is hoping that the JTA’s claim which speaks to infrastructure improvement among other things will be taken into consideration.
