JTA president urges colleagues to petition God to address several issues affecting sector
As the islands public teachers prepare for the resumption of classes in the new school term, they are being urged to petition God in a bid to address several issues affecting the education sector.
These include, the protracted wage negotiation with government, and violence in schools.
The petition is being made during back to school church services islandwide.
Some services are being held on Sunday, and other services are scheduled for Saturday January 7.
This year‘s theme is “Anchored in the right foundation: re–igniting the nation.”
JTA President La Sonja Harrison noted that crime and violence cause too much trauma for students and teachers
She said teachers are seeking the guidance of god, as they go through government‘s restructuring process.
