JTA calls on Govt to fix issues causing delay in salary payments to teachers
President of the Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) La Sonja Harrison is calling on the education and finance ministries, to address the issues that have resulted in thousands of teachers, not receiving their salaries.
Ms. Harrison noted that there has been delay in salary-payment for 2 successive months, and there continues to be no word, from authorities, on when this will be addressed.
She indicated that there are several schools across the island where teachers have not been paid and that those who have been paid are reporting discrepancies with their salaries.
