JPS says power has been restored to over 70% of customers island-wide
The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) says power has been restored to more than 70% of customers island-wide.
Speaking to IRIE FM News today, Corporate Communications Manager at JPS, Winsome Callum said only St. Elizabeth did not have customers back on the grid.
She noted that despite the extensive scale of damage in the parish, JPS teams are working to have power restored.
She said work would also continue in St.Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew, Westmoreland, Clarendon, Portland, St. Mary, St. Ann, Manchester and Hanover today.
Miss Callum said focus has been placed on medical facilities, National Water Commission plants and telecommunication facilities.
She said today’s focus would have been on getting the transmission lines back up.
