JPS says 64 percent of customers reconnected to grid
The Jamaica Public Service says following the passage of Hurricane Melissa 64 per cent of customers have been reconnected to the grid.
It said customers from Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, St. Thomas, Clarendon, Manchester, sections of Portland, St. Elizabeth, St. Ann, St. Mary and St. James are among those with electricity.
Power is yet to be restored to approximately 36 per cent of customers.
In the meantime, the JPS said 81 per cent of major health facilities have power.
