JPL second round action kicks-off on Sunday
The second round of the 2024-25 Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League gets underway on Sunday with a six-game schedule on match day 14.
In-form leaders Mount Pleasant put their four-match win streak on the line against former champions Portmore United when both face-off in a meeting of top six teams at Drax Hall starting at 3pm.
The St. Ann-based Mount Pleasant, unbeaten in their last six games overall, are the current leaders on 28 points while the visitors are 6th on 22 points having played to draws in their last 3 games.
Elsewhere second place Arnett Gardens, who are a point behind and aiming to keep pace with Mount Pleasant, play away to 7th place Dunbeholden at the Dunbeholden Sports Complex. The team coached by Xavier Gilbert is seeking a return to winning ways after closing the opening round with their first defeat in 19 matches, a 2-1 loss to defending champions Cavalier.
Fourth-placed Waterhouse, going for a third win in six matches will also be on the road as they take on promoted club Racing United at Ferdie Neita Park.
The Anthony Spalding Sports Complex will host the game between Chapelton Maroons and Harbour View who are both on 12 points.
The games are all scheduled to kick-off at 3pm.
Recently crowned Caribbean Cup winners Cavalier take on Humble Lion at Stadium East at 5:30 after the encounter at 3pm between bottom of the table Molynes United and Tivoli Gardens.
The lone game on Monday features third place Montego Bay United and Vere United at the Catherine Hall Sports Complex.
