The Joint Select Committee reviewing the Electricity Act 2015, concluded its deliberations today, paving the way for the likely implementation of the act early next year.

The committee has been deliberating the act since 2021.

Now that the committee has concluded its meetings, a draft report will be sent to Parliament with the recommendations of the Joint Select Committee.

A timeline of January has been set for its tabling.

Speaking at the final committee meeting today, Chairman Daryl Vaz thanked members for their participation, while noting that he looks forward to the implementation of the act.
