“JLP’s campaign style, people’s natural affection for Dr. Holness led to victory in Sep 3 polls” – Chairman of Party’s Manifesto Committee, Johnson Smith
The Jamaica Labour Party’s campaign style and the people’s love for Party Leader Dr. Andrew Holness led to the JLP’s victory in last Wednesday’s General polls.
That is the comment from Chairman of the Party’s Manifesto Committee, Kamina Johnson Smith, following the conclusion of the final counting of ballots last night.
Mrs. Johnson Smith maintained that the natural affection of Dr. Holness played a pivotal role in the JLP achieving its third consecutive term in power.
Following the final count, the JLP garnered the majority of votes in 35 constituencies, while the People’s National Party received the most in the other 28.
The JLP also gained the majority of the votes in all three by-elections.
