JLP’s 80th annual conference underway
The Jamaica Labour Party, (JLP)’s, 80th annual conference is now underway at the National Arena in Kingston.
Hundreds of supporters clad in shades of green, are now converged at the venue, having travelled from all across Jamaica to show their support for their party leaders.
Patrons on the outside can be seen blowing vuvuzelas, waving the Jamaican and JLP flags and shouting the names of the JLP representative for their constituency.
On the platform, one of the first speakers, Deputy Leader Desmond McKenzie welcomed party supporters, while urging them to pay keen attention to the messages presented.
Meantime, in an interview with Irie FM News, senior party member Senator Aubyn Hill said Jamaica should look forward to party leader Andrew Holness’ speech.
And party supporters who spoke with our newsroom said they are hoping for change.
