JLP members double down on support for party leader PM Holness amidst resignation calls

Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) members have doubled down on their support for party leader Prime Minister Andrew Holness amidst calls from the Opposition for his resignation.

The calls follow an Integrity Commission report on Mr. Holness’ statutory declarations.

Speaking at a spot meeting in Exchange, St. Ann last night, JLP candidate for North East St. Ann, Matthew Samuda said there has never been a JLP leader who has not been disparaged and attacked by the PNP.

He said the party stands with Holness.

Meanwhile, JLP Deputy Leader Desmond McKenzie accused the Opposition PNP of trying to turn the country away from the Prime Minister.

Mr. McKenzie said the JLP will not stand by and allow this to happen and that party members are willing to take to the streets in defense of Mr. Holness.
