Leader of the governing Jamaica Labour Party, Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has indicated, that the general election will be called very soon.

The election is expected by September, when the life of the current parliament will end.

Speaking at a JLP Gospel Concert in Portland Western last evening, Dr. Holness acknowledged calls by the opposition People’s National Party for him to announce the election date.

According to Dr. Holness, opposition members want the date to be announced, not because they believe they will win, but because they are tired.
