JLP Leader PM Holness says he will not call the general election today
Leader of the Governing Jamaica Labour Party, Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says he will not call the general election today.
He made the statement during a phone call with a supporter yesterday.
A video of the conversation was posted to the Prime Minister’s Instagram account.
His remark follow speculations that the election date would be announced at a JLP meeting in St. Andrew East Rural this evening.
Those speculations began after JLP Deputy Leader Desmond Mckenzie told supporters at a recent meeting, that they should listen out for an announcement.
That statement saw Member of Parliament for St. Andrew East Rural Juliet Holness jumping up from her seat.
