JLP criticizes PNP over integrity lamps comments
The Jamaica Labour Party has criticized General Secretary of the People’s National Party Dr Dayton Campbell for statements he made about the use of integrity lamps on election day.
Speaking at a PNP meeting on Sunday Dr. Campbell told supporters that the party’s election day workers would be using integrity lamps to verify the identity of voters.
The lamps are used to scrutinise the voter identification card presented by an elector at a polling station.
Dr. Campbell said integrity lamps have been bought for every constituency.
JLP representative on the Electoral Commission of Jamaica Tom Tavares Finson said Dr. Campbell, who is also a commissioner at the ECJ should know better.
According to Mr. Tavares Finson, no party worker will be allowed to enter a polling station with an integrity lamp.
