JLP councillors support party’s decision to recommend Delroy Williams as standard bearer for Central Clarendon
Three of 4 councillors in Central Clarendon say they do not object to and will support the decision by the Jamaica Labour Party Secretariat, to recommend Delroy Williams as standard bearer for the constituency in the next general election.
The JLP’s Mike Henry who is the Member of Parliament will not seek re-election in the next election, due by September.
According to a letter being circulated in the media, some JLP members do not support the selection of Delroy Williams.
The letter which the three councillors say is false threatened that JLP supporters would not vote if Delroy Williams is not removed.
However, in a media release this morning councillors Tanya Lee Williams and Kenneth Davis and Councillor Caretaker of the May Pen West Division, Lorraine Green Mason confirmed that they support the party’s decision.
