JLP Blasts Golding Over Response to Leaked Audio

Chairman of the Jamaica Labour Party’s Communication Taskforce, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, has described as shameful People’s National Party President Mark Golding’s failure to strongly condemn sentiments expressed in alleged leaked audio recordings by members reportedly affiliated with the PNP.

Over the past week, there have been public comments over the recordings, which contain discussions about the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA) and its Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Golding broke his silence on the matter at a post-National Executive Council media briefing yesterday where he noted that the leaked recordings do not reflect the official position or any policy of the party.

He also said comments made in the recordings were not from any party officer.

Senator Abka Fitz-Henley said Mr. Golding’s approach to the issue is misleading and not surprising.
