JFF Technical Committee had no direct role in the non renewal of Lorne Donaldson’s contract
The JFF’s Technical Committee had no direct role in the non renewal of Lorne Donaldson’s contract as head coach of the national senior women’s football team, according to chairman of the committee Rudolph Speid.
Donaldson during his tenure which began in July of last year, led the reggae girls to a third place finish at the 2022 Concacaf Women’s Championship in Mexico and followed it up by guiding the team to an historic last 16 appearance at the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup in Australia in New Zealand.. having qualified from a group that included global heavyweights Brazil and France.
however, his stint officially ended last week when his contract was not renewed following a meeting where the JFF stated in a press release that both parties came to an agreement on his departure…..claims disputed by Donaldson.
Speid who denied that the technical committee had a role in the decision making process, said there was a breakdown in the employer-employee relationship.
