JCF rank and file members to wait a bit longer for information about overtime pay
Jamaica Constabulary Force rank and file members will have to wait a bit longer to hear more about monies for their overtime pay.
Opposition Spokesman on Finance Julian Robinson yesterday raised questions about the overtime monies owed to the police.
He was reacting to comments by Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke about the supplementary estimates.
In response, Dr. Clarke stated that he was not in a position to respond to the question which he said -should be directed to the Minister of National Security.
In June 2022, a Supreme Court ruling ordered the government to implement a system to record officers’ overtime hours by March 31, last year.
The Police Federation has highlighted that many cops are working beyond a forty hour work week and are yet to get their monies.
