JCF, INDECOM investigate beating incident allegedly involving cops at party promoted by Romeich Major
Two days after allegations that Major Marketing CEO and artiste manager Romeich Major, orchestrated an attack on a TikToker at Rebel’s Birthday Party on Saturday, the incident is under investigation by both the Jamaica Constabulary Force and police oversight body, INDECOM.
The high command said it was aware of a video being circulated on social media showing an incident allegedly involving off-duty members of the JCF. It said upon learning of the incident an internal investigation was immediately launched to determine the facts, including whether any policy was breached. The high command said any misconduct or breach of policy is treated with the utmost seriousness and assured the public that any member found in breach of JCF policies, or the law will be held accountable.
On Saturday, video footage surfaced showing TikTokers TJ Thuglife and his girlfriend, Moya, being physically assaulted, allegedly by off-duty police officers and others during the party being held for Rebel.
Following intense public pressure across social media, Major attempted damage control, issuing an apology on Sunday during a Tik Tok live.
Meanwhile, social media users, despite lauding the intervention of the JCF, continue to call for justice for the assaulted TikTokers and urge corporations to sever ties with Major.
