JCF implements programme aimed at improving officers’ response to hostile situations

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has implemented a special tactical course for officers as part of efforts to improve its response to hostile situations.

The first batch of 102 men and women from the 19 policing divisions completed the specialized operations level 2 tactical course on Friday.

The JCF says the three-week course, which commenced on Sunday, September 8, is part of an ongoing mandate to have its members become experts in dealing with hostile situations.

It notes that lessons under the programme were delivered through lectures as well as practical and real-life experiences.

The JCF explains that lessons covered crucial topics including effective communication, the use of force policy, weapons handling,  public order and conducting vehicle and people checkpoints.
