Jaydon Hibbert’s World Under 20 Triple Jump record of 17.75 metres, ratfied by World Atheltics
The World Under 20 Triple Jump World record set by Jamaica’s Jaydon Hibbert 17.75 metres has been ratified by World Athletics.
Hibbert who turns 20 on Friday improved his own World U20 record with that performance on June 1 last year in Jamaica.
The previous ratified record was the leap of 17.66metres Hibbert achieved in Monaco on July 21, 2023.
In his series in Kingston at the racers Grand Prix last June Hibbert opened with an effort of 16.45 metres, which he improved 17.14 in the second round and 17.30metres in the third round before he soared to a meeting record and World U20 record of 17.75m in the fourth and final round for third place on the world list for 2024
Hibbert went on to finish fourth at the 2024 Paris Olympics clearing 17.61metres, just three centimetres off the bronze medal-winning mark.
Hibbert’s achievements in 2024 also earned him a nomination for men’s rising star at the World Athletics Awards.
